The matses tribe

Along the Javari river in the Amazon forest, the Matses tribe lived. These people, they used traditional, small-scale (slash and burn) approach to farming. Through discrimination and outside influences, the young Matses felt ashamed by their culture. Big cities lure younger Matses away from their traditional lifestyle and into urbanised poverty and exploitation.

Passion project

On the 29/11/2018 we completed our pizza,  this pizza had been shared out with a few others and received some ratings, Mr Stock had rated us an 8/10. Next time we should have trusted everyone in the group to participate, instead of relying on certain people. Most the ingredients we had trouble getting, but this was a success. We thank all the teachers who helped us through this, especially Mrs Taylor, for lending us cheese and letting us use her room. This project could've required a little more co-operation and teamwork but it was a success.

Passion Project

We are in the process of making pizza,  everything had been done and we have left the dough to rise and we need toppings prepared on monday.We had mixed everything together and grinded the meat, and left the dough to rise. This is the progress we have made so far.

(must order it to have it) Teaspoon, whisk, bowl x2, plastic bowl, frying pan, cutting board, wooden spoon, jug,  stirring machine Dough: 2 teaspoons of yeast, 1/2 teaspoon of caster sugar,3/4 cup of warm water,2 cups of plain flour, 2 tablespoons of olive oil,1 teaspoon of salt Pizza sauce: 400g of tomatoes (optional: tinned), 1/3 cup of tomato paste, 1 small brown  onion, 1 teaspoon of caster sugar,1-2 cloves of garlic Toppings: Cheese, Capsicum, Beef, Onion Sauces on top: Mayonnaise and BBQ

Outline a step by step method of your investigation: Sauce: Oil on frying pan while element on, Diced onions in frying pan, Garlic in frying pan, Put both tomatoes and tomato paste in frying pan, Caster sugar in frying pan, Mix well until ready. Dough: Yeast in bowl 1, Pour water with yeast, Whisk it, Get bowl 2 and pour flour in, Oil with flour, Mix yeast and water with flour, stir, Flour on table, Knead dough, Plastic wrap over dough,  Leave dough to grow, Cooking: Spread out dough add sauce and toppings, Pizza in oven for 15-20 minutes on 220 degrees celsius.

There was once a Unicorn, this Unicorn ate Toads. This unicorns name was Jeff and he was the last Unicorn,  Jeffs favourite food was toad. One horrific day there were no Toads, this was no positive  news Jeff soon became depressed and layed there without a care in the world, he wouldn't even eat, if this carried on Jeff wouldn't be able to live much more.

In desperate need a kind dinosaur wanted to help Jeff out, this dinosaurs name was Pinky, Pinky was very brave and she was determined to help out Jeff. Pinky went into the mysterious forest and 3 hours later had found the Toads. Pinky was relieved, but the Toads were all stuck in a wooden box and 3 trolls were around the wooden box.

Pinky was scared and since she was brave she found a sword but it was stuck in a rock, Pinky had trouble but eventually pulled it out. Automatically there was lots of sparkles and rainbows it was so pretty!

Pinky went to the trolls with the sword and demanded the toads be released, so they can move around and Jeff would once be happy!

The trolls denied so Pinky killed them.

Unexpected Wealth

Unexpected wealth.

I was cleaning the garage and i go to move the drawer and behind it is a shoebox I was curious about why it was hidden but i moved it out of the way and unexpectedly it's heavier than usual, I open up the shoebox and find exactly 40,000. I didn't know what to do so .I began to investigate. 

I had searched for clues and there was no luck. 

After a few weeks I finally came up with the perfect idea!  I was going to ask a real estate agent about the previous owners. I took a while to find them but they gave me the previous owners name and i started to investigate.

The name of the previous owners were Anna and Dave Brown, They didn't have a good name. According to google, they had shot 3 people 2 had died and 1 was critically injured. They had also been known for a lot of theft and were arrested for 15 years. 

This must've been why i got this house with all the fancy stuff! This was to good to be true! This must've been stolen money i thought to myself that's why it was hidden.

I go to the police department and turn in the money, it turned out the police had been searching for that money for 6 months and they were relieved to have it, but then they arrested me.

Big bummer, they thought i was the one who stole it, I had to talk to the detectives and explained why and explained everything i knew, luckily i was sent free and the police followed me home.

When the police came in the house they had said everything in this house was stolen goods so i must return it. I was upset, maybe this wasn't the right thing to do, i turned it in and lost everything. 

When the police took all my equipment out i finally had luck! the police had set up a new house all ready of me, this house was better than my previous one. 

My bad luck turned to good luck and now i'm living a happy life.

Ratios

Ratios, which are actually mathematical relationships, are perfect examples of math in the real world. Grocery shopping, cooking and getting from place to place are three common, real-life situations.

So the ratio of flour to milk is 3 : 2 To make pancakes for a LOT of people we might need 4 times the quantity, so we multiply the numbers by 4: 3×4 : 2×4 = 12 : 8 In other words, 12 cups of flour and 8 cups of milk. The ratio is still the same, so the pancakes should be just as yummy.

This is a story about friendship no matter how big
something stuffs up there’s always a way to fix it
and how everyone should be treated equally no matter
what’s happened or what they have done everyone deserves
second chances.

It Was early morning in 1995 my first day at highschool i was so excited

and nervous but mainly excited. My new school was called hornby high school.

Ugh i forgot to introduce myself my name is Jennifer, Jennifer lawrence
and some stuff about me my birthdays on a leap year and since it’s on a leap year,
my parents told me to pick a birthday i picked my birthday to be on the 23rd
november why? I honestly don’t know.

Okay so i got changed did my hair, polished my shoes had breakfast and did
my teeth. Then while i was doing my teeth mum started yelling at me saying
“HURRY UP JENNIFER IT’S YOUR FIRST DAY AND YOU’RE ALREADY
LATE” I spat the toothpaste out and ran right into the car to be honest it hurt and
i swear i had a bump on my head.

Once i arrived at school mum took me to the office and the person there
asked my mum is she wanted to go back and they would look after me.
You would think she would be more than happy leaving me on my first day
at high school but no she had to stay with me all my excitement left i was really
really really really really really nervous about what everyone would think i mean
me walking with a teacher and my mum this day couldn’t get worse.

Guess what i was wrong it got worse. Once i was in class my mother decided
'to stay the day. I did all my work and everything was good the only downside
was my mother, my stupid mama thinking it would be okay spending the day
with me,i’m not in preschool no more i’m not in kindergarten or primary why
would she do this to me how dare, she my stupid rude mama.

Okay so the next day i arrived in my class happy as ever because my big mama
wasn’t there but it only got worse dun dun dun.

Okay so i was in my class on my phone listening to try not to sing songs
and oh my gosh some random kid came up to me her name was latesha she said
' “is you’re mummy here bubba” i said no, she comes on first days.
“Oh little bubba needs her mummy to help her” “no i don’t” says
Jennifer crying.

Then since it was morning and they were in form class there was only like
12 students there and the teacher was in the staff room doing whatever she
was doing i can’t believe staff don’t let students in there, like what are they hiding?
Are they talking about how my mother hangs out with me the whole day, or about
other students are they planning to kill students or what,nothing surprises me.

Okay so as i was crying another kid came in and I was expecting her to make fun
of her but she didn’t she came up to me and said are you okay? I say awkwardly
“yeah i’m okay” she had said well my name is Quinn and if you need to talk or
anything i’m here okay? I say “YAY” Quinn looked confused so i shut my big mouth
and smile it was a awkward smile. I say “actually can i talk to you now if you’re free?”
Quinn says “sure what’s troubling you?” i say “Well this girl was making fun of me for
having my mum with me for the whole day and i don’t know how to stop it” Quinn says
“Well leave that up to me” Then says “Who was the person who was being rude to you”
Jennifer awkwardly points to Latesha. Alundra storms up to Latesha and says
“leave her alone what’s the matter with you? She’s new” Latesha cracks up laughing
and manages to respond after a while “ She got her mum to go to school for the day,
she needs a guardian” Quinn says “Well you got your grandma to come to it’s the same
thing” I manage to respond with “ Well my mum aint that old” Quinn says “ Shut your mouth
if you want this to work” I shut up A.S.A.P

The week went as slow as possible until i finally had the courage to ask if i could hang
out with Quinn, i mean i really wanted a friend and she was one of the nicest in the class.
So when i asked Quinn if i could hang out with her she said”Yes”,it was because she had
seen me by myself for the whole week. And i guess she had sympathy for me. I mean how
embarrassing is it to walk around the school on your own. So i exchanged numbers with
Alundra, man i felt stink when she saw my phone i had a Nokia 3310 and she had a
samsung galaxy s6 Edge Plus man was i jealous. So that day when i got home i walked
in the door my mother asked me how my day at school was but i just ran to my room and
slammed  the door behind me i did not want her to know what happened today. The night
went slowly i couldn’t go to sleep till like 11:00pm, and i woke up 4:00am, and then my
alarm went off.

Okay so in the morning Jennifer excitedly was waiting for Quinn and she wasn’t there
the first day, or the next day, or the next few weeks i messaged her saying where are you?
She messaged saying i got kicked out of school, i did the crying emoji and said what the
hell why? Quinn says Oh my gosh you're so gullible Jennifer it's hilarious,but then i say
but where are you i haven’t seen you in ages, and shes bullying me again Please come
back, i need you, what will i do without you there to stop her bullying. Every time that
she bullied me,it got bad to worse, to terrible Quinn messages back saying i was in a car
accident i’m in hospital right now, i may not make it out i’m in a wheelchair right now,
don’t tell anyone i don’t want anyone to know . Jennifer says okay and Latesha storms over to
me and takes my phone saying you texting your mummy again huh bubba i say give it back with fury.
Latesha read the messages to the class and like in less than 10 minutes the whole school knew Quinn
was in a wheelchair for a while and it was everyone's gossip and Jennifer got bullied even more.

3 weeks later Quinn arrives at school and walks into class and everyone was laughing at her.

Quinn was like what’s going on? They all laugh saying you were in hospital in a wheelchair lame,
lies your dog probably hurt his leg so you took care of him for a long time.

Quinn looked like she was going to burst into tears and yelled at me saying
“HOW COULD YOU I TRUSTED YOU!” and she ran off crying.

Now i have no friends nothing my only friend gone. I decided to take my phone back
and stormed off to the office. I missed the first class which was Music, i was really bad at it
but i loved it, i had never missed music before i was heartbroken, but something had to be done.
I asked to see the principal and said it was urgent, i saw him his name was Mr Anderson and he
came as soon as he could and he took me to a room so we could talk, just me and him.

As we were talking least i knew there was someone who didn’t hate me. I told him
everything and he told Quinn to come he said it was urgent she came and said what
is Jennifer doing here?, Mr Anderson said she's trying to solve something.  
Mr Anderson had told Quinn everything that Jennifer had already told him.
I said that Latesha took my phone and showed the whole class. I didn’t want
to show anyone.

After 2 months of humiliation

It was almost My birthday, I was in a mix from from happy and sad.

I arrived in class and for the first time ever Quinn was in class before me.
They talked for awhile and Quinn said it’s your birthday today right I say yeah why?
And Quinn says i have a birthday present for you i started crying, don’t worry it was
happy tears, extremely happy, Quinn goes in her bag and takes out 6 Presents i said
“Omg that’s way more than what my mother gave me, she gave me two pairs of socks”
Quinn says well it’s your lucky day The first present Quinn gave me was a new
Samsung galaxy s8 Quinn said this is better than my phone you just might have to put
your sim card in it. And Quinn told me to open my second one and omg it was $100
again i got told to open my third present was a surface pro and the fourth was a bff
necklace as i open my fifth i say are these really all for me Quinn says of course
it’s your birthday right? I say yeah so i open the last one and it was a samsung galaxy
tab s3 i started crying again (happy tears)  Why does this keep happening.

Interval Quinn took me to the art room and said this day hasn’t been perfect
but just in case i'm sick or gone for a while here's the last surprise. I thought those
were the last gifts I say Quinn says “this isn’t really a gift man”

Quinn brings them out...

To my surprise there were two people and i say who are these people Quinn says
“these are some of my other friends meet Olivia and Mia” Mia says konnichiwa,
i say Konnichiwa back,even though i didn’t know what it meant. Next Olivia says any
friend of Quinn is a friend of ours Mia says onamae wa nan desu ka? I repeat it not knowing
what it meant onamae wa nan desu ka and Mia says excuse me that means what is your name
Mia looked offended but i said sorry i’m new at japanese, oh and my name is Jennifer,
Jennifer Lawrence.

So the next few weeks were perfect i had not one friend but three friends, and on my walk
home, my mum said hey,but not how was school, I guess because the first time my mother
had asked I had ran and slammed the door but since i was in a good mood, i said mum i’m
sorry for slamming the door a few months ago, i was just in a bad mood, but if
it helps today was awesome and thanks for my socks, i love them so much, My Mum actually
says sweety i got you a iphone 7 I go emotional and i don’t have any idea why.

I say thanks Mum and i showed her my other presents and she said they are awesome who
gave them to you i say Quinn mum says just her i say yep and then i say she got me two more
friends to this turned from the worst year to the best.

Several years later we’re still close friends but throughout the School days
we would not be in the same classes, but some
of the classes were the same, we were happy to see each other in
the classes, so we actually could talk, when we had the chance. We all wished
that we could be in the same classes all day everyday but i guess not all wishes
come true, having friends was my biggest wish, and that's the main wish i love
and will treasure.

My mum was getting old and sick once we were year 11 and Quinn had to go to a
funeral for her dog charlie, and nothing was the same since that. I had to look after
my Mum, and Quinn looked after her dog after school everyday, and she couldn’t hang
with us anymore.

So we couldn’t meet up at least Mia and Olivia had each other nothing , Interesting happened in their life they were plain boring, most the time.

My mother got rushed to hospital a few nights later after a heart attack,
after another few nights she was back to normal and i went back to school
and Quinn still wasn’t their.

I messaged her saying please come back to school and she said okay if it
makes you happy. Quinn wasn’t there during interval or lunch and she wasn’t
there for the whole day and I didn’t know why, Quinn told me she’d come,
and she wouldn’t respond to my messages, this was very unlike her, straight
after school i messaged her “WHERE ARE YOU???” i got sick of this,
I biked to Quinns house and Quinn’s mother had gone to work,
The door was unlocked which must’ve meant Quinn was home,
I was coming up with a lot of questions to ask her while walking through
the doorway and up the stairs.

To my surprise Quinn was lying there on the floor in a pool of tears, there was charlie,
Quinn manages to say “he’s gone” and she cries again and again.
As usual i didn’t know what to do so i comforted her for a good 30 minutes
and then went back home.

The next day at school Me,Quinn,Mia and Olivia were planning to meet up like usual,
but again Quinn didn’t arrive, we took notice but i told the group about what happened
but a week later we hadn’t took notice of anything that happened but then the principal
called us in.

"i'm sorry for your loss he says " at this point we're all confused, until he says it was Quinn.

We're all shocked, we didn't see this coming, Everything's changed.

Nothing will every be the same without her.

When the lightning stroke him, he had instantly died. To Paris this was heartbreak,
this was going to be her only chance to confess her feelings towards him. Paris had
instantly broken down into tears, she had mourned for months, and if the magical fairy
Jarod hadn’t come to the rescue this probably wouldn’t have changed. Jarod the magical
fairy had told Paris a way to get her one true love back, but this wasn’t going to be easy.

Paris didn’t know if she could do this, but she had hope, a lot of it. Jarod had given a
magical map to Paris and this map was called map, whenever she asked map a question

he was like (i’m the map in the map) he also said some other stuff but these were irrelevant.

Paris had taken about 3 days to get out of the house,
i don’t know how she’d be able to save him if she took this long
to get out of the house.
